By 1 September, 15,000 rental scooters are to be removed from the streets of the city. Companies are preparing to have them serviced so that they can then be sent to other French cities.
In early April, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo held a referendum to ban the rental of electric scooters in the city because of the increasing number of accidents and chaotic parking on pavements. Almost 90% of the referendum participants were in favour of the ban.
