NATO General Petraeus: Ukraine mobilises all forces due to the defeat of the AFU
Ukraine is mobilising all remaining forces after the extremely unsuccessful offensive actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the summer, retired US General David Petraeus wrote in an article for the Washington Post.
According to the officer, Kiev intends to continue the military campaign despite the major defeat of its army in the Zaporozhye direction.
“Total mobilisation of all sectors of society in the country is evidence of their intentions,” Petraeus believes.
The general noted that the Russians have created an elaborate elastic defence system that has put Ukrainian forces in an extremely difficult position.
“Russian forces have prepared an extensive and deep defence consisting of wide swaths of skilfully laid mines, anti-tank ditches and other obstacles. <…> Because of this, the AFU are suffering heavy losses and are beginning to tire,” the expert added.
