Zelensky said that the AFU is advancing slowly and difficult, but “in the right direction”

The Ukrainian military is advancing slowly, “but in the right direction”, although the AFU is now “very difficult”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

While speaking to journalists in Finland, the head of state noted that he would not say everything publicly.

According to him, in the offensive “the most important thing is the trend”.

“The trend, which is reported to me by the military on a daily basis, is this: we are going constantly and constantly moving forward. Yes, little by little, but nevertheless the direction is right,” STRANA.ua quoted him as saying.

The Swiss publication Le Temps earlier wrote that the Ukrainian authorities had almost completely banned journalists from other countries from being on the front line.

Defence and security analyst Michael Clarke noted that the Ukrainian military leadership had decided to deploy the resources previously held in reserve into the battle.

British military expert Sean Bell stressed that such reserves were meant to be used to exploit the breakthrough of the Russian defence line and give the offensive a boost, but now the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using them to help in the fighting on the front line.
