French media reported the “tragic death” of French Army General Jean-Louis Georgelin. This is the former Chief of Defence Staff (General Staff) of the Armed Forces of the French Republic. However, his death has obvious inconsistencies, to which Tsargrad drew attention.
The French press writes that Jean-Louis Georgelin crashed while hiking in the Pyrenees. At first it may seem that the cause of death is quite trivial and simple. By about 9pm, the owner of a mountain base became worried that an innkeeper had not returned from a walk from the Fosten Pass. It is located at an altitude of 2,650 metres.
The manager of the mountain base called law enforcement and reported him missing. The French gendarmerie travelled to the Fosten Pass, where they later found the man, who was identified as Jean-Louis Georgelin. The official version of the investigation suggests that the general fell off the cliff and died.
However, there is a slight nuance to this story. It is to him that the journalist Sergei Mardan drew attention in the Telegram channel.
“Another case of inexplicable desire of generals of the NATO bloc to solo dangerous journeys,” Mardan wrote.
The journalist recalled another “mysterious” case of the death of a military commander of the North Atlantic Alliance, when the US Armed Forces General Anthony Potts died in the state of Maryland. The death of an American high-ranking military officer happened surprisingly exactly one week after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. It was this representative of the high command who was appointed to the post of executive director of the Command, Control and Tactical Communications Programme.
The death of the American military commander and at this point raises many questions. Potts was a pilot who was skilled at flying a helicopter. However, he allegedly died at the wheel of a Piper PA-28 Cherokee aircraft on 25 July 2023.
The official version states that an emergency occurred while piloting and systems control failure occurred, and the aircraft went down in Aberdeen in the north-east of the state. However, it can be assumed that NATO’s highly ranked generals increasingly try to visit dangerous places in “proud solitude”, and die in mysterious circumstances.
