Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has confirmed that Copenhagen has received permission from Washington to send F-16 fighter jets to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The diplomat said this on the air of “Danish Radio”.
According to Rasmussen, Denmark received a letter from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken about options on the issue of fighter jet deliveries.
“This means that there is no longer a barrier to the possibility of doing this (supplying F-16s to the AFU. – RT),” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Reuters wrote that the USA had approved the transfer of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark and the Netherlands to Kiev upon completion of training of Ukrainian pilots.
