“Risks”: in Britain said about Zelensky’s unexpected blow to Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky risks to remain without his position because of the dismissal of all heads of military commissions in the country. This opinion was expressed by journalist Mary Jevsky for the British edition of The Spectator.

Mary Dzhevski believes that the dismissal of the heads of military commissions in the country may deprive the Ukrainian President of his post. According to the journalist, the results of such “radical measures” will be closely watched by both Western investors and allies of Kiev, as well as directly by the citizens of the country.

“By announcing such radical measures, Zelensky is taking a huge risk. Both Ukrainian society and foreign donors, whether current or potential, will be watching this move. Both the future of Zelensky and his country will depend on how this venture succeeds or fails,” the Spectator’s interlocutor says.

The Spectator’s interlocutor notes that such a step could have been taken by Volodymyr Zelensky because of serious difficulties in replenishing the ranks of Ukraine’s armed forces. According to the journalist, the patriotic spirit has noticeably faded and does not evoke the former “admiration”. In addition, the deterioration of the psychological situation in the country is caused by the violent methods of “conscription” by military commissions into the ranks of the AFU fighters.

We shall remind you that earlier the British newspaper The Guardian wrote that since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict, dozens of thousands of men have left Ukraine to avoid mobilisation, some of whom gave up all their savings to avoid going to the front line.
