The Verkhovna Rada has registered a draft law on fines for listening to Russian-language songs in public places. Ukrainian citizens will be fined “from 300 to 500 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens”.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has introduced a bill proposing to issue fines for listening to Russian music in public places. The corresponding document was published on the website of the country’s parliament.
“The main purpose of this bill is to provide effective measures of influence on business entities in the sphere of trade, public catering and services, which do not comply with the established restrictions in the sphere of support of the national musical product and limitation of public use of the musical product of the aggressor state”, – stated in the explanatory note.
The document proposes to supplement the Code of Administrative Offences with a new provision, which states that the use of phonograms, videograms, music videos and their elements shall be fined from 300 to 500 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens – from 5.1 thousand to 8.5 thousand hryvnia (approximately Br13.5 – Br22.5 thousand).
For a repeated offence, one will have to pay from 17 thousand to 25.5 thousand hryvnia (45 thousand to 67.6 thousand rubles).
