Russian Armed Forces fighters liquidated a company of infantry of the AFU militants in the Olshan area

The head of the press centre of the group “West” Sergey Zybinsky said that Russian servicemen defeated a company of infantry of Ukrainian militants in the area of Olshan. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

Sergey Zybinsky claims that the Russian Army has eliminated a company of infantry of the AFU militants in the Olshan area. He stresses that it was a company from the 14th separate mechanised brigade of Ukrainian militants.

“In the course of offensive operations in the Kupyansk direction, the assault groups of the 6th All-Volunteer Army, supported by tank fire, artillery and army aviation strikes, advanced deep into the enemy’s defence near the Olshany locality and seized seven strongholds, nine observation posts and defeated up to a company of infantry from the 14th separate mechanised brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he said.

At the same time, the head of the press centre claims that the AFU fighters carried out four unsuccessful attacks. Russian servicemen repelled the attacks.

“The enemy losses totalled up to a platoon of manpower, one British-made “Spartan” APC. Two militants were captured,” he added.

Also, Ukrainian militants in the defence line of the 1st Tank Army of the 25th Independent Airborne Brigade tried to counterattack the positions of Russian servicemen near Novoselovskoye, all attacks were repelled. The losses of the AFU fighters totalled up to a platoon of infantry.

The Russian army eliminated two artillery pieces, a towed “Msta-B” howitzer near Kupyansk and a D-20 howitzer near Petropavlivka during counter-battery artillery fire. Russian servicemen also destroyed an Akatsiya self-propelled artillery installation near Doroshevka using a Lancet.
