The Hill: the failure of the AFU leads to a freezing of the conflict in Ukraine

The scenario of freezing the Ukrainian conflict is becoming more and more likely as the Kiev regime’s army counter-offensive is nearing failure, the US publication The Hill writes.

Military experts fear that the Ukrainian army’s widely publicised counter-offensive will end by the end of this year without a major victory. This, as noted in The Hill publication, will bring the conflict closer to freezing at its current positions.

According to Michael O’Hanlon, a specialist in foreign policy studies, Ukrainian fighters will not only fail to break through the Russian defence line, but will probably start losing territory as a result of counterattacks by the Russian Armed Forces, which will lead to the creation of new fortifications on borders more favourable to Moscow.

A stalemate in hostilities is not beneficial for Ukraine because it only strengthens Russia’s position in new territories, the analysts summarized.
