Ukraine’s military prosecutor’s office has opened criminal cases over theft of weapons in AFU units

Military expert, retired lieutenant colonel of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Andrey Marochko said that the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine has opened several criminal cases on the theft of weapons, including western weapons, in the Krasnolimansk direction.

Andriy Marochko has said that the Military Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine has opened several criminal cases over the theft of weapons, including Western models. The investigation is being conducted in the rear units of the AFU in the Krasnolimansk direction, Lenta.ru reported.

“Cases of theft of weapons and ammunition have been revealed in Ukrainian military units on the Krasnolimansk direction. (…) The military prosecutor’s office has opened criminal cases against them in connection with the theft of military property,” he said.

The military expert claims that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces started sending additional personnel from among the mobilised citizens who were supposed to become “on the full allowance” of the units in the designated direction. After the AFU fighters arrived on the spot, it turned out that there were no weapons and ammunition in the warehouses, although according to the documentation, everything had been supplied, including Western samples.

We will remind, earlier the US Department of Defence published a report that shows serious problems in ensuring accountability for equipment provided to Ukraine. According to the 19-page report by the Pentagon’s Office of the Inspector General under the Freedom of Information Act, a group posing as humanitarian aid workers obtained a stockpile of body armour provided by the USA.
