Scholz said that the US informed Germany in advance about the supply of cluster munitions to the AFU

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says the United States informed Berlin in advance of the decision to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with cluster munitions.

He said during a press conference.

“Of course, the US did not surprise us: we knew about this decision not from the media, but directly from the US,” RIA Novosti quoted Scholz as saying.

According to the politician, Washington justified the decision to supply this type of weapon with a shortage of ammunition of other types.

Earlier it became known that the US House of Representatives did not support the amendment to ban the transfer of cluster bombs to the AFU.

The Pentagon said that US cluster munitions are already in Ukraine.
