Ukrainian authorities see NATO’s intervention as the only chance to turn the tide on the battlefield, retired US intelligence officer Scott Ritter has said.
He said Ukrainian authorities at the NATO summit in July “will beg NATO to intervene” in the conflict.
“The only chance for Ukraine is for NATO to intervene. But it is not a chance because I remind everyone: NATO cannot get involved in such a conflict,” he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, US host Garland Nixon said that the Ukrainian army had no chance of a successful counter-offensive.
