Zaluzhny says he is “pissed off” by comments about slow AFU counter-offensive

AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny said in an interview with The Washington Post that he was “pissed off” by comments about the slow counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops.

“This is not a show. This is not a show the whole world is watching, betting on or anything like that,” he said.

According to Zaluzhny, every metre of fighting “is given with blood”.

On 27 June, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost 259 tanks and 780 armoured vehicles since the start of the counter-offensive.

On 22 June, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev reported to the Russian president that Ukrainian troops had lost over 13,000 men during the attempted counter-offensive.
