French President Emmanuel Macron has left the EU summit in Brussels and cancelled a planned press conference on its outcome.

The news was reported by BFMTV.

He will hold a meeting of the inter-ministerial crisis group in connection with the unrest in France, it is noted.

Earlier it was reported about the riots in Nanterre, France, where police officers shot and killed a 17-year-old boy.

More than 650 people have been detained in the riots.

French housing minister Olivier Klein has said a state of emergency could be imposed amid the unrest in the country.
