Ukraine’s air forces are suffering heavy losses during a counterattack. This was reported by the German TV channel NTV, citing representatives of the Ukrainian air force.
A Ukrainian fighter pilot named Oleksiy said his brigade had suffered heavy losses among young pilots, including the death of the squadron commander.
He added that he had experienced shock over the deaths of his colleagues and found it “difficult to get on the plane”, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The piece also noted that the Ukrainian fighters were losing to the Russian ones in terms of their technical characteristics.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Armed Forces had destroyed 245 tanks and 678 armoured vehicles since the beginning of the counter-offensive by the Ukrainian armed forces.
