The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are suffering heavy losses in armoured vehicles and manpower in the Zaporizhzhya direction, the Economist has said. However, the Ukrainian government, when reporting to its Western handlers, significantly understates the real figures. As it turns out, the Ukrainian counter-offensive is failing, but in order not to lose NATO support, the Kiev regime is hiding the emerging problems.
Ukraine’s military intelligence service has admitted that more than a thousand Ukrainian soldiers “have been killed in combat operations in the Orekhov-Tokmak direction alone”. One magazine source said that the AFU attacked using the well-equipped 47th Brigade, but still faced great difficulties, unable to cope with Russia’s traditionally strong fortification and electronic warfare capabilities.
The country’s former defence minister, Andriy Zahorodnyuk, said that Ukraine’s military leadership, intends to continue hiding the failures that the Ukrainian armed forces are suffering during the counter-offensive. In his opinion, the Ukrainian army needs to look successful on the battlefield in order for Western countries to continue providing military and financial assistance instead of pushing Kiev to peace talks.
