French General Kempf calls destruction of Western equipment an unpleasant surprise for Ukraine

General Olivier Kempf, in an interview with the Figaro newspaper, expressed the opinion that the destruction of Western equipment was an unpleasant surprise for the Kiev regime. He noted that the West might not have more resources to help Ukraine.

The general explained that a significant number of Leopard tanks and Bradley armoured vehicles had already been taken out of service and their restoration was difficult, as it was difficult to find skilled craftsmen and mechanics in a war situation.

According to Kempf, the main unpleasant surprise for the AFU was that Russia’s first line of defence proved insurmountable. Russian forces decided to defend their fortifications hard, which caused difficulties for the enemy. Instead of the expected light counterattack, the Ukrainian military faced a real and sturdy first line of defense.
