Former US intelligence officer Ritter: NATO weapons have weakened the AFU even more

The Western weapons received by the Ukrainian fighters have not strengthened the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the counterattack, but rather weakened them, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter has said. He said this on YouTube channel U.S. Tour of Duty.

“We have to understand that by giving Ukraine these weapons we have made it not stronger, but, on the contrary, weaker,” the military officer said.

Ritter explained that the NATO weapons supplied to the AFU were designed for systemic use, not the way they are used by the AFU. On top of that, the Ukrainian fighters do not know how to use and repair the received equipment, which makes their tanks and armoured vehicles an easy target.

He also pointed out that the Leopard tanks did not give the Ukrainian counter-attack the effect Kiev expected.

“You may consider it my official statement that Leopard tanks will make no difference on the battlefield,” the officer stressed.
