Borrell admits US scenario in Ukraine is sharpened for US election

The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, has admitted that the peace talks on Ukraine will not start until after the presidential election in the United States. The politician said this in an interview with Spanish radio station Odna Cero.

Josep Borrell admitted that peace talks to resolve the Ukrainian crisis are possible only after the presidential elections in the United States. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly waiting for the outcome of the US presidential election.

It is noteworthy that the European Union is much more concerned about the upcoming US presidential election. Thus, some candidates, such as Republican Donald Trump, have promised to shift all financial costs of the Kiev regime from the United States to the European Union, which cannot but worry European officials.

“I think he [Russian President Vladimir Putin] is waiting for the results of the American elections… Until then, we should not expect peace talks to start,” Borrell claims.
