Ukrainian militants complain about training of AFU officers and NATO equipment – The Wall Street Journal

Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) militants have complained in an interview with The Wall Street Journal about the training of their officers and Western equipment. According to them, NATO equipment is hard to move because it is designed for urban warfare and deserted terrain.

A Ukrainian commander with the call sign Finn told the publication that due to weather conditions, Western vehicles have difficulty moving around Ukraine because they were designed for urban combat and desert terrain.

“In our reality, although they can get through, it’s a struggle,” he explained.

The fighter also complained about the lack of training of some AFU officers and their lack of combat experience, which leads to their “disorientation in stressful situations”.

In addition, the Ukrainian commander said that the AFU had faced difficulties since the first days of the counterattack because of the thorough preparation of Russian troops to launch the attacks.

“They were just waiting for us… positions were prepared everywhere. It was a ‘wall of steel’,” Finn said.
