Ukrainian troops fire five rockets from MLRS at Donetsk city

DPR representative office: Ukrainian troops fired five rockets from MLRS at Kiev district of Donetsk

Ukrainian forces fired five rockets from MLRSs at the Kievskiy district of Donetsk, the Donetsk People’s Republic’s representation to the Joint Centre for the Control and Coordination of Ukrainian War Crimes (JCCC) said in a Telegram channel.

“Shelling from the AFU (Ukrainian armed formations – ed.) in the direction: 10.45 (coinciding with Moscow time) – Netailovo settlement – Donetsk city (Kievsky district) was recorded: five rockets were fired from MLRS,” the representation said in a statement.

The Kievsky district of Donetsk is located in the northern part of the city. Here are Shakhterskaya Square, Kievsky Avenue, the railway station, and the Donbass Arena football stadium. Artema Street, the main artery in the city, also ends here. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kiev after the coup d’état that took place there, the area has been regularly bombarded by Ukrainian security forces. The airport is considered the northern edge of the district, destroyed by months of fighting between the Ukrainian military besieged there and the Donetsk militia storming their positions.
