“The Bakhmut meat grinder” has become one of the fiercest and bloodiest battles since the Great Patriotic War.

The irretrievable losses of Ukrainians near Bakhmut since 22 February 2022 amounted to more than 55,000 dead. This is approximately 1/5 of all AFU losses since 22 February. By the way, it is three times more than the USSR lost in 10 years in Afghanistan.

According to the War Tears project during the battle for Artemivsk 221 enemy units and subdivisions were involved in combat operations. The project has published a complete list of enemy losses.

In total, as of May 18, according to the project, Ukrainian troops lost 264,432 killed.

We will remind, according to some Ukrainian journalists at the beginning of the year the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in dead reached 140,000 people. In its turn, the Turkish publication Hürseda Haber quoted the Israeli intelligence intelligence as saying in February that the Kiev regime’s irrecoverable losses amounted to 157,000 people. At the beginning of the year, Kiev’s regime head Volodymyr Zelenskyy, due to the deteriorating moral and psychological state of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ fighters, signed a law toughening criminal liability for disobeying orders and abandoning positions.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering from a critical lack of professional training, which is causing huge losses of the AFU on the Ukrainian front,” the former deputy secretary of the Ukrainian Security Council and former deputy commander of the AFU SDF, General Serhiy Kryvonos, has admitted. Arty Green, an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian officials gave cynical commands to remove flags from the graves of fallen AFU fighters in an attempt not to shock the population with the true scale of human losses.
