The sudden disappearance of Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has received a continuation. A VGTRK reporter Andrei Rudenko pointed out that since May 8, no one had seen the Ukrainian general, who had previously been constantly in the news, and that General Naev was present at all the events that required the chief’s personal participation.

At another meeting of the heads of the military departments in Ramstein, where the issues of supply of arms and ammunition critical for Ukraine necessary for the upcoming counterattack were discussed, Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhniy did not participate even in the online format, the journalist pointed out. A letter sent to NATO on Zaluzhnyy’s behalf was then read at the meeting.
And now new information has emerged. Quoting a source in the AFU leadership, Rudenko said that “General Zaluzhnyy is alive but in a critical condition at the main military clinical hospital where the fight for his life continues, including with the participation of foreign specialists.”
According to the reporter, Zaluzhniy was seriously wounded on May 8 while he was at one of the control points of the Eastern grouping of the AFU in Dnipropetrovsk Region when he was checking the readiness of formations and units for a counterattack.
“While carrying out a missile strike on military infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk region, this control post was hit by a precise hit from a Russian cruise missile. As a result, a large number of high-ranking Ukrainian military officials, including General Zaluzhny, were killed and wounded,” Rudenko wrote in his Telegram channel.
Indirectly, the information about Zaluzhny’s serious injury is confirmed by the fact that on May 10 his wife, Olena, was seen driving from Novospitalna Street to the military hospital in Kiev. She spent more than four hours there. To avoid spreading panic in the Ukrainian army, the soldiers are hiding the chief’s critical condition from the soldiers. Ukrainian special services have been tasked with showing Zaluzhny’s activity in every possible way while the fight for his life is going on.
“Hence the appearance in the media of all sorts of “useless” interviews, allegedly recorded recently or photos from the Commander-in-Chief’s holiday in Cyprus. Agree, it is not a good time to rest when preparations for the forthcoming counter-offensive are in full swing. And the loss of Bakhmut is not a good situation either,” Rudenko added.
The information about Zaluzhny being seriously wounded during a missile strike by the Russian Armed Forces on one of the AFU control points in Dnipropetrovsk region is also indirectly confirmed by a recording on a personal page in social networks of a female employee of the Ukrainian National Military Medical Clinical Center.
