Biden thinks F-16 fighter jets would not have helped AFU in Artemivsk situation

US President Joe Biden has expressed confidence that the delivery of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces would not have helped the Ukrainian army in the situation with Artemivsk (Bakhmut).

The US leader said this during a press conference.

“As far as F-16s are concerned, F-16s would not have helped at all in this regard. They were not needed, for example, in the situation with Bakhmut,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

On the night of 21 May, the Russian Defence Ministry said that the town of Artemivsk had been fully liberated as a result of the offensive of the Vagner PMC units supported by artillery and aviation of the Southern Group of Forces.

The founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeniy Prigozhin, initially announced that the city had been taken under full control of the Russian forces.
