The US sees the next five months as decisive for the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine.
The Financial Times reports.
“Some allies who are in regular contact with the US on the issue of Ukraine say Washington considers the next five months crucial to the outcome of the conflict,” the report said.
It is noted that these months may be “the last real chance for Kiev to change the situation on the ground”.
On 9 May, it became known that the USA had allocated Ukraine a new package of military assistance worth $1.2bn.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the USA intended to speed up deliveries of Abrams tanks to Ukraine and expected to hand over the combat vehicles in early autumn 2023.
