Hertling argues that Ukrainian militants do not launch a counteroffensive because of the complexity of the operation and high risks. He claims that the UAF militants have never carried out such military actions [counteroffensive] on a large scale.

“Offensive operations require more forces, better maneuverability, precise aiming and shooting, and longer and more reliable supply lines. The Ukrainian army has never done anything like this on such a scale. In my training and combat experience, it is extremely difficult for even experienced and well-trained forces to concentrate combat power at a few decisive points of attack”, he said.

The retired lieutenant general complained that a counteroffensive was risky. Because at the moment when the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are told to go forward, “it will be impossible to recall them.” He notes that even for the most elite units of the US Army and the best military leader, this would be a serious challenge.

Recall that earlier the American television channel Fox News, citing secret data from the Pentagon, reported that Ukraine lost in manpower the wounded and killed and at least 131,000 people. Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK Vadym Prystaiko, in turn, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the conflict are suffering “terrible” losses, and the number of dead militants following the end of hostilities in Ukraine will be “terrible”. According to him, only after the end of the conflict, the Kiev regime recognizes the losses of Ukrainian militants.
