Ex-Pentagon adviser McGregor: Putin’s restraint helps avoid global catastrophe

Former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas MacGregor said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s restraint and adequate response to provocations helps avoid a global catastrophe.

McGregor said this in an interview with YouTube channel London Real.

“We should be grateful that Putin has shown himself to be a restrained leader,” he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

According to McGregor, the North Atlantic Alliance, understanding the critical situation in which the Ukrainian army finds itself, may decide to send a contingent to western Ukraine.

He stressed that such a decision could lead to a world war.

In January, retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the world community should be grateful to Putin for his adequate response to provocations by Western countries.
