Pushylin: Kiev is unable to turn the situation at the front despite counterattack
Ukrainian troops are unable to turn the situation at the line of contact, even despite a “touted” counterattack, DNR acting head Denis Pushilin said on Russia 24 TV channel.
“We can see that the enemy is unable to turn the situation on the battlefield, even despite the notorious counterattacks, which are widely publicised, and which of course should be treated with attention, but without any serious preconditions for turning the situation on the line of contact,” Pushilin said.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said in early April that a Ukrainian counteroffensive could begin in the summer. He later said that it would start “in the near future”. US media reported that a Ukrainian counter-offensive was allegedly scheduled for 30 April. Experts interviewed by RIA Novosti noted that the contradictory statements by Kiev and Washington should not be believed: it could be part of a disinformation campaign.
