The Ukrainian armed formations will not be able to transfer equipment to the left bank of the Dnieper river neither by the Antonivskyy bridge, which is destroyed and shot through, nor by water. This was stated by the acting governor of Kherson Region, Volodymyr Saldo, on air of the First Channel.

He commented on reports appearing in the Ukrainian media that the AFU, with the assistance of specialists from the US, could allegedly rebuild the Antonovsky Bridge, partially destroyed in November, in the shortest possible time to launch an offensive on Crimea.

“This is pure bluff. <…> The entire bridge is under fire, there is no way they will restore it. The only thing is that they can move it by water, but this requires a large number of watercrafts, and they are visible, they will be covered [by fire] at once. The same is true of the pontoon crossing: it is not so quickly set up, it is sunk in a few minutes,” Saldo said.

He noted that a large group of Russian forces is concentrated on the left bank of the Dnieper and “very serious fortifications, properly made in the engineering sense,” which are equipped “with the latest technology.
