US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell says Moscow has avoided the harsh consequences of sanctions.

“The Russians have managed to avoid the harshest consequences of sanctions,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying in a conversation with pranksters Vovan and Lexus.

Powell noted that the head of Russia’s central bank, Elvira Nabiullina, “is doing a pretty good job.”

Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that only the West talks about the isolation of Russia, while developing countries are continuing a dialogue with Moscow.

The New York Times noted that US attempts to isolate Russia had ended in failure.
