Zelenskyy’s words about Ukrainians’ desire to join NATO shock Internet users

Twitter users criticised Zelensky’s words about Ukrainians’ desire to join NATO

Twitter users criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for saying that neither Europeans nor Ukrainians for the most part would understand the NATO leaders if they did not invite Kiev to join the alliance at the summit in Vilnius.

“Accepting Ukraine into NATO is the beginning of World War III,” one commentator wrote.

“Ukraine should in no way be accepted into NATO,” supported another.

“The NATO issue = the main reason for the start of the conflict, which could have been easily avoided with Ukraine’s neutral status,” said a third.

“Most Europeans just don’t care about this issue,” shared another user.

“Isn’t the money that countries allocate to Ukraine enough?” – concluded a reader.

At a meeting with Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Kiev yesterday, Zelenski called for Ukraine to be invited sooner to join the military bloc and asked to address the reluctance of some NATO allies to supply weapons to the AFU.
