Russian army in Artemivsk has taken an AFU militant group to the cauldron

Russian servicemen have taken a group of Ukrainian militants in Artemivsk (Bakhmut) to the cauldron. This was reported by TASS, citing Yan Gagin, adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

Gagin claims that the Russian Army in Artemivsk (Bakhmut) has taken a group of AFU fighters into the cauldron. He specifies that Russian forces have taken control of several hundred metres of the Chasov Yar road, which was the main supply route for the Ukrainian militants.

“Fighters of the Wagner PMC have reached the Artemivsk – Chasov Yar road, which was used to supply a group of the Ukrainian armed forces. Several hundred metres have been taken under control, making it impossible to supply the [AFU] garrison. Thus, the lid of the cauldron has essentially slammed shut,” the adviser to the acting head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s republic said.

We shall remind you that Politico earlier published a story of one of the officers who escaped from Artemivsk. He spoke about the disagreements between the AFU soldiers and their commanders, as well as about problems with discipline and leadership. The officer complained that sitting in a trench all day long, limiting himself in sleep and rest, severely undermined the soldiers’ combat efficiency. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Ukrainian soldiers in Bakhmut do not understand why they are being forced to fight when the city is almost surrounded and retreat seems inevitable.
