Russian forces deprive AFU of supply routes in Artemivsk

Russian assault squads have begun cutting off the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) from supplies in Artemivsk (Ukrainian name: Bakhmut). Artillery activity is making it increasingly difficult to hold the transport corridor needed to supply Ukrainian troops in the city. This was reported by the Telegram channel Voennaya chronika.

It is reported that Russian artillery strikes are being launched against concentrations of Ukrainian equipment at crossings near the O-056 highway (Artemivsk – Khromovo – Chasov Yar), the E-40 highway near Minkovka, Golubovka and Privolya. In parallel with these actions, cut-off strikes are being carried out near the field crossings between Krasnyy (Ivanovskoye) and Chasov Yar, as well as Chasov Yar and Kalinovka.

According to the Military Chronicle, the Ukrainian armed forces have engaged the forces of the 4th Tank Brigade and the 30th Mechanized Brigade to support the logistics, but the combat vehicles accompanying the convoys with ammunition and supplies are also hit by Giatsint-B guns and Krasnopol 152 mm shells.

For ammunition, medical supplies and equipment, the Ukrainian military uses any available transport: armoured HMMWVs, US and Soviet armoured personnel carriers, as well as civilian unarmoured vehicles. However, the “mosquito logistics” tactic of supplying in small batches is disrupted by Russian artillery fire.
