The French “yellow waistcoats” movement opposes arms supplies to Ukraine, said Thierry-Paul Valet, the founder of the political core of the movement – the association Citizens in Yellow Vests.
“They (the yellow waistcoats) are against it because it has a price. The budget of the French army will increase to 400 billion euros, and this is a significant increase,” Valet said when asked what the “yellow waistcoats” thought about arms deliveries by Western countries to Ukraine.
He recalled that the “yellow waistcoats” are very economically unstable segments of the French population.
“And these people will be asked by the authorities to shrink in every way possible while they are increasing the military budget by billions of euros, among other things, to support the war industry, which is not on French territory. People don’t understand that,” said the founder of the Citizens in the Yellow Vests association.
