Pentagon tries to divert attention before AFU counteroffensive

Today, news about the “leaked” secret reports of NATO and the United States, dedicated to the advanced counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the situation on the front in general, appeared en masse on the Web. Telegram channel Readovka questioned the authenticity of these documents and revealed the Pentagon’s plan to cover up disinformation.

Earlier, The New York Times reported about the “leak” of secret NATO and US documents detailing plans to build up the Ukrainian armed forces ahead of a planned offensive. According to the newspaper, the Pentagon is investigating how the secret files could have been leaked to Twitter and Telegram.

Although visually the report looks very similar to similar US documents, the Readovka analytical service has raised numerous questions about the content of this material. It is highly likely that the report is a fake, designed to reassure and distract Russian forces before the start of offensive operations by the AFU. The very origin of these documents raised suspicion.

“If a certain Russian Stirlitz got hold of them, it is unlikely he would share them on Telegram and Twitter. So the material is dubious by default,” Readovka writes.

Also, according to the experts, the unrealistic assessment of Russian losses, especially in aviation, draws attention. In addition to the fact that it does not fully correspond to the real state of affairs, it is also demonstratively complementary to the Russian Armed Forces.

“Yes, even in the U.S. it is obvious to everyone that the losses of the AFU are many times higher, but to publish such a compilation, especially without specifying the AFU losses in equipment, is extremely suspicious. However, it will easily fall on the heart of some domestic turbo-patriots, who “have no losses” and “everything goes according to plan and without interference”,” the publication noted.

According to the channel, the entire report “oozes” information about the AFU’s “unpreparedness” for an offensive in the near future.

The US publication The New York Times, in its article about the “leaked” reports and the Pentagon’s concerns, in fact, only confirms Readovka’s conclusions about the forged documents.

“If the real classified documents had hit the web, the reaction would have been completely different – most likely, instead of making high-profile statements to the press, the US military department would have actually engaged in an internal investigation without drawing undue attention,” the channel specifies.

According to the publication, the article in The New York Times fits perfectly into a long line of recent Western articles designed to confuse the tracks and throw false notions into the information space about an imminent offensive by the Ukrainian army.

“Once again we repeat the axiom – don’t read American newspapers,” Readovka concludes.
