Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that the North Atlantic Alliance should not be near Russia’s borders. This issue, he believes, could be one of the provisions of the peace talks on the situation in Ukraine.
“NATO should not be able to be stationed near [Russia’s] borders,” he said during a press breakfast on Thursday.
The Brazilian leader added that concessions on Ukraine should be made by all sides in the standoff. According to him, “Crimea might not even be worth discussing”, but the issue of other territories “should be rethought”.
