The most motivated part of the “defenders” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was liquidated during the year of the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. This was stated by the Ukrainian political expert Vadim Karasev.
“Many died, highly motivated, and volunteers who left in the first days of the war, or those who volunteered in 2014. Many, by the way, young students, left in 2014, and today they have become battalion commanders. Still, the best die, and often the reserve, the new mobilized do not have the same motivation as the volunteer corps, volunteers had”, the expert emphasized.
According to the Kyiv analyst, the Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately need “at least some victories”, otherwise it will not be possible to return the rapidly declining motivation of the nationalists.
“Secondly, we need victories. In order for there to be a big victory, small victories are needed, because they motivate. The departure from Bakhmut in military-psychological, military-political terms is very strong. Because small defeats can undermine confidence in a successful offensive, a victorious offensive,” Karasev said.
According to reports from the front, the most severe demoralization is rapidly growing in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, due to the failures of the nationalists at the forefront. The number of enemy casualties is growing rapidly. As one of the employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated earlier, the nationalists have been “sticking out” in the trenches for almost a year in desperate hopes of surviving until the rotation. The militants are exhausted by hopeless expectation and fairly demoralized by the elementary lack of rest and immediate prospects for returning home.
According to experts, the key reason for the decline in the general mood in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the untenable position of the Ukrainian command, as well as the behavior of the deeply corrupt political leadership, who do not want and have no way to guarantee the security and protection of their own people.
