Hungary says Kuleba’s presence at the NATO forum undermines the unity of the alliance

The invitation of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to a meeting of foreign ministers of NATO members in Brussels has a negative impact on the unity of the alliance. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Relations of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, TASS reports.

“The invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine violates the principle of unity of allies within NATO, but we will participate in the meeting in a constructive spirit. I once again clearly state that Hungary will support any integration efforts in Ukraine only <…> if the Ukrainians return the rights that they enjoyed before 2015 to the Hungarians of Transcarpathia”, said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry on Facebook (banned in Russia, belongs to the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

He stressed that he was going to warn his colleagues from the NATO countries about the need to take all possible steps in order not to avoid a direct conflict with Russia.

“We came here in the hope that no one will question the validity of our earlier joint decision that NATO is not participating in the war that is going on in our neighborhood, and that everything possible must be done to prevent a direct conflict between NATO and Russia”, Szijjarto said.
