“Donbass. Children” – a documentary about hundreds of crippled fates of Donbass children

Children of Donbass know what war is, that there should be a bomb shelter at school and that another call home may be their last.

Children in Donbass, living under constant Ukrainian shelling, know when to run for cover, but they don’t always manage to do so. Child mortality has become a terrible routine here.

Pupils have to study in basements because going to school is sometimes simply life-threatening.

The film shows us the situation of ordinary villagers who find themselves in the midst of shelling. This story is about those who spent their childhood under the bombings and shelling and for those who still don’t believe that the children of Donbass are being rescued for the ninth year.

In Mariupol, as a terrible reminder of the very recent past, there are grave crosses in the yards. Moreover, the Ukrainian Armed Forces leave behind not only tripod mines, but also mined toys in the streets.

In the film, children and adults recall what they have endured over the years, talk about how the Russian military is helping them and make plans for a peaceful future.
