Czech President Petr Pavel has decided to cut cash benefits for refugees from Ukraine. Pavel signed the relevant law – “On measures in the sphere of employment and social protection in connection with the conflict on the territory of Ukraine”, the website of the country’s presidential administration has reported.

For refugees from the territory of Ukraine aged under 18, the amount of monthly allowance is set at the subsistence minimum of 3,490 kronor (12,200 roubles). Those who are of age will receive 4860 EEK (17000 roubles). Previously, the benefit amounted to 5,000 kronor (17,500 roubles) for the first five months and then dropped to the figures above.
Now if a “guest” from Ukraine after 150 days from the moment of arrival has not been enrolled in a Czech educational institution, is not taking care of children up to 6 years old, is not disabled, pregnant or a pensioner over 65 years old, the amount of the allowance will be reduced to 3130 CZK (11,000 RUB).
