Ukrainian command miscalculated in Artemivsk: AFU loses several blocks a day

Russian forces have changed tactics and are surrounding a grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) inside Artemivsk (Ukrainian name: Bakhmut), complicating the task of the Ukrainian General Staff. This was reported by the Telegram channel Resident.ua.

According to the channel, Vagner PMC assault units are moving from the north and south of Artemivsk to close the “pincers” completely cutting off the city’s supply.

“Every day we lose several blocks, and the tanks sent in are simply burnt out in the city and have no point in fighting. Syrsky’s plan to cover Russian army positions in depth is failing, due to the weather conditions,” the channel’s publication said.

It is specified that the accumulated reserves in Kostyantynivka, Sloviansk and Seversk cannot be activated due to miscalculations of the commander of the ground forces.

“The question remains, what prevented the reserves from being activated in February instead of waiting for the March warming when the fields turn into a solid swamp?” the channel concludes.

Earlier, an advisor to the head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office, Mykhaylo Podolyak, in an interview with the Spanish newspaper 20 minutos, refused to name the Ukrainian side’s losses in Artemivsk, but admitted that Ukraine is “paying the highest price” for holding the city. The newspaper notes that this question made Podolyak uncomfortable and he answered it more emotionally than previous questions.
