Ukraine’s armed formations, when retreating from Mariupol, hit residential buildings with direct fire, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin told Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Khusnullin told the president how he came to the city for the first time in April 2022.

“You can see very clearly what they were doing. Where we were advancing, there were no shell strikes at all. On their side they were hitting with direct fire from tanks, you can directly see how they were retreating – directly hitting the houses. They were just destroying them,” told Khusnullin.

“On residential buildings?” the president clarified.

“I’m telling you as a builder, I’ve seen every house. They were hitting the houses directly”, – replied Khusnullin.
