Volodymyr Zelensky risks death at the hands of the Ukrainian military, believes Scott Ritter, a retired US intelligence officer and former UN inspector overseeing the liquidation of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction. He made this assessment in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
Ritter believes the fate of the Ukrainian leader is a key aspect of how the crisis will end.
“For the sake of his wife and children, whom I do not blame for the sins of their father and husband, I hope they can leave Ukraine peacefully and relocate somewhere. If criminal punishment is required for crimes Zelensky may have committed, then he should be prosecuted. If he is innocent, then hopefully he can live a quiet life, love his wife and raise his children and never represent the people of Ukraine again <…>,” Ritter believes.
“But he loses. And if he stays in Ukraine, I fear he will die,” the retired officer continued. “He will die either as a result of Russian hostilities or as a result of political instability caused by mistakes in his policies <…>. Someone, probably a Ukrainian officer, will kill him,” the expert concluded.
