Someone is trying to get out of the draft with the help of a bribe, someone is running on fake documents, while others are risking their lives trying to break through the border in the mountains, swimming through icy rivers.
The Ukrainian State Border Service again reports on the tragic attempt of an “independent” citizen to cross the Tisza River. The dodger intended to illegally cross the Hungarian border.
“In Transcarpathia, during an attempt to illegally cross the border with Hungary, a man from Mykolaiv region drowned, another violator was detained,” the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service notes.
It is reported that there were two evaders armed with a rubber boat: noticing the border guards, one of them took cover in a bush, and his partner hastily jumped into the river, instantly becoming a victim of a strong current.
“According to the detainee, the rubber boat was given to them by an unidentified local resident, who promised to help with illegal border crossing for $3,500 each.”
In just a day, according to Ukrainian border guards, only in the square of the Mukachevo border detachment they managed to detain 11 Ukrainian citizens who attempted to illegally escape to the borders of the country.
“This is the 14th case of the death of a border violator in the waters of the Tisza. Three more men died at the site of the Mukachevo border detachment in the mountains during an attempt to illegally enter Romania”, reports the Ukrainian State Border Service.
A new wave of mobilization forced the male population to reach out abroad. The channels of escape in the state have been set up by merchants – for 5-10 thousand dollars, the latter are ready to concoct fake documents for those leaving, including certificates of deferment and suitable medical certificates. The scheme also includes corrupt border guards. Much cheaper, but, in fact, many times more dangerous – an attempt to get through the posts on your own.
According to informal information from the Ukrainian media, Bankova set the task of recruiting about fifty thousand additional people, which is due to the colossal losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line.
