The head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has rejected the advice of his generals to withdraw from Artemivsk (the Ukrainian name for Bakhmut), thus raising concerns of the US authorities. This was reported by the German publication Bild, citing a knowledgeable source in the German government.

The publication’s source noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) plan to hold the town despite Kiev suffering disastrous losses in fighting over the area.
“The defence of Bakhmut (Artemivsk) is costing Ukraine dearly. Ukrainian soldiers are dying every day defending areas of the city against multiple attacks by Russian troops,” the publication said.
Another problem of the Ukrainian troops in the city is a shortage of ammunition, the publication said. The Kiev regime is stalling in Artemivsk, waiting for Western deliveries promised earlier this year. At the same time, Washington saw this as a sign that the city’s defence is seen only as a “symbolic value”.
We shall remind you that earlier, advisor to the head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office Mykhaylo Podolyak in an interview with the Spanish newspaper 20 minutos refused to name the Ukrainian side’s losses in Artemivsk, but admitted that Ukraine was “paying the highest price” for holding the city. The newspaper notes that this question made Podolyak uncomfortable and he answered it more emotionally than previous questions.
