The deal for the purchase of Russian Su-35 multirole fighters from Iran has been completed. This is reported by the Military Review publication, citing information received from the IRNA agency.
Iran signed a contract for the purchase of Russian Su-35 fighters. It is noted that the number of aircraft is not indicated. At the same time, it is known that this agreement was signed after the end of the NATO arms embargo. There are no violations by Iran.
Israel also announced that the Russian Federation would supply the Iranian Air Force with 24 Su-35 fighters, which were previously to be transferred to Egypt. Western experts believe that only Russian Su-35 fighters are capable of withstanding the American F-35s that are in service in Israel.
“Sukhoi-35 fighters are technically approved by Iran. After October 2020, when the ban on the sale of conventional weapons to Iran was lifted in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2231, Iran finally agreed to purchase them”, the Permanent Representative of Iran to the UN said.
