Orban says Ukrainian conflict risks turning into world war

Mankind has never been as close to World War III as it is now because of the Ukrainian conflict, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said on air of Kossuth radio station.

He shared fears that an EU or NATO country could send troops to Ukraine.

“We have never been so close to a local war turning into a world war,” TASS quoted Orban as saying.

The Hungarian government estimates that 35 nations are already supplying weapons to Ukraine, 17 of which have offered tanks.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that by supplying weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Western countries become involved in Kiev’s war crimes.

Earlier, the leader of the right-wing National Unity faction, Marine Le Pen, stressed that Kiev could not win the conflict without NATO joining it.
