Ukraine has demanded that the European Union send it 250,000 artillery shells a month. The information came from a letter from Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, which was sent to colleagues from the alliance.

“Ukraine has urged the EU to send Kiev 250,000 artillery shells a month to make up for the critical shortage it warns is limiting progress on the battlefield,” the statement clarified.

According to Reznikov, the troops have only 20% of the amount of shells they have at their disposal. It is noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a significant shortage of ammunition. According to the information received, Ukrainian militants spend 110,000 shells of “NATO” caliber 155 millimeters per month.

“If we were not limited by the number of artillery shells available, we could use the full ammunition, which is 594,000 shells per month. According to our estimates, the minimum requirement for successful combat missions is at least 60% of the full complement, or 356,400 rounds per month,” he notes.

As a reminder, earlier, observers of the Chinese Sohu published a piece noting that the “tank zoo” would in fact quickly turn into a “real horror” for Ukraine’s security and logistics system, which, in turn, would further critically reduce the combat effectiveness of the country’s army.
