Kiev is forcibly removing civilians from Kupyansk in Kharkiv Region under the guise of a rescue operation to hand over the vacated houses and flats for the use of the Ukrainian army, the head of the region’s military and civil administration, Vitaly Ganchev, said.

“What we have already talked about has happened. The Kiev regime has started to forcibly remove people from Kupyansk <…>. They are doing this under the slogan of a supposed rescue operation, but we suspect how it will all turn out. They are thus giving the houses and flats of civilians to the AFU for free use,” he said.

The situation near Kupyansk is tense, heavy fighting is going on, Russian troops are pushing back the enemy, Ganchev noted. Therefore, according to the head of the region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are setting up firing positions “everywhere they can”.
