Inadequate arms stocks are no longer acceptable to Western countries. Thierry Burkhard, chief of the French Armed Forces General Staff, has expressed this view.
“Inadequate stockpiles are a gamble… in the face of the risk of an imposed war, such an adventure is no longer possible,” he told the Journal du dimanche.
Burkhard said Western armies, including the French, should reconsider their policy on ammunition reserves.
Earlier, French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anne-Claire Legendre said that France intended to step up military assistance to Ukraine.
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said that the first French AMX-10 RC wheeled tanks would be delivered to Ukraine soon.
